Tony seems to slip into a second skin — almost like Iron-Man but lithe, agile, nimble with a kind of loose-limbed flexibility that was not there before. This is more alive than they have ever seen him, his features have not changed, his eyes are the same color but there is something about him, something wild, something free, something that calls from some deep place inside him, saying I am home.
OR,
Maria Stark time-travels from 1983 to 2012. The team learns she was not the pretty little thing history remembers her as, she was a typhoon wrapped in skin, a storm. Tony was raised by that storm, and they see that too.

Summary
Tony, son of billionaire Howard Stark, is stuck living under his father's rules if he wants to inherit the company. A company he plans to make his own to prove to his father for once that he can do it on his own. That is until his father becomes more involved in trying to set him up to marry Pepper Potts, not for love but because it's a good business decision. Until he meets Steve, a college student who's barely making ends meet with his jobs and the help from the military that he signed up for to pay his tuition. More than just social class is keeping them apart, but Tony can't deny his feelings for Steve. Can they make it with such a forbidden love?

The end of the cargo hold slowly began to open into the bright, starless night sky. Stark slowly walked forward until he reached the edge, buffeted by a heavy wind… and looked down onto Queens. And the large expanse below him, Flushing Meadows — home of the new Stark Expo.
Thousands were looking for him down below in the wings of the central stage. He couldn't keep them waiting; it was opening night. What better way to make an entrance, than from above?
Flying high. Burning out. Coming in hot.
Tony Stark is living his best life. Ever since he got in the Iron Man suit six months ago, he's started a new world fair, ended several wars and finally turned his life around for the better along with his assistant Pepper Potts.
Tony Stark is living his worst life. The military wants his suit, his friend James Rhodes is turning against him because of his own bad choices, and someone is out there who wants revenge for what his family did to him, long ago.
On top of all that... he is about to die. His own invention is killing him — and he doesn't know how to stop it.
