The alarm screamed.
Sound bounced off the metal walls and scraped along everyone of Kirin’s exposed nerves, making its broken horn throb as it limped on a cracked hoof. Still, the racket was better than the horror to which they had become accustomed.
A friend’s voice couldn’t be recognized in the automated ringing.
