Gale's attempts at managing the orb's instability become more difficult as a smaller group of adventurers bring Lenore ever nearer. Korra and Astarion's explorations of the Underdark and each other are aided by some wild company and even wilder land.

A What If? Look at the tale of Baldur's Gate centered around the relationship of reader and Astarion if he'd had someone with him during the tail end of his two hundred years of misery.
Barely canon-compliant given that I don't own game. Most characters will be background decoration. This started off as a collection of vignettes, essentially, that highlighted portions of their relationship as it changed through the years. There's no coherent timeline involved, most chapters were posted under the heady impulse of inspiration, linear timeline be damned.
A plot does emerge later in the story, focused on the reader's past and the problems that come with it.
I'll be playing fast and loose with a myriad of rules concerning the BG3 universe and D&D as a whole.

Despite the situation the young human found himself in, he wore simple yet expensive clothing. The only weaponry he had was an enflamed sword and a dingy bow, both having been pilfered in the Nautiloid. He was wholly unprepared for whatever adventure he had set out on, yet he didn’t so much as blink when Astarion put a knife to his throat. The smaller human instead looked straight into Astarion’s eyes with a mix of boredom and superiority.
When it was revealed that they were both simply screwed over by Mindflayers of all things, he didn’t seem to care either way. He told Astarion “do what you want” when the vampire suggested teaming up.
