Tame it, and it will do things that the Chantry’s instructors never dreamed of. The first time she uses the new lyrium, she doesn’t think much of it. The color’s unusual, sure, but the philters change all the time.
All it took was once.
It might be too late, and withdrawal might kill her, but– she thinks of back when she was still a little girl. There was an old Warden that passed through her village, guided along by a younger and grim-faced member of their order. The older sometimes seemed unaware, often distantly humming along to some odd, crooked tune in the short time they stayed. The song of this new lyrium sounds like it. Too much like it. Soon you won’t need to stop to hear it.
