His Stranger frowns. “Find flaws in yourself?”
“No.” The bastard, Hob thinks, impossibly, dangerously fond. “I could go. As your date.” He clears his throat. Too late to back out. “Pretend to be.”
“You jest.”
“I’m not. We’re strangers, right? If this goes south – you’ve got nothing to lose.” Chattering to cover up, and covering up to dig an even deeper grave. That, apparently, is Hob’s specialty. He shrugs, and hides his twisted smile behind the bouquet he’s tying up. “There’re a million other florists in London.”

Like a dying land, you to have had much taken from you and yet the human heart of greed knows no bounds. They take and take and take, not knowing when to stop. Or perhaps they never cared.
He once asked his sister why she left you to your gate; what stops her from taking you to your final resting place?
But Death smiles softly, gently, before taking Dream’s hand in both of hers.

Also wherein feelings develop, as they are wont to do, and rise to the surface, changing everything for the three of them- and the Dreaming.

What a vexing man. Luckier than he deserves, audacious too, but a mystery.
Now, starved of contact, cut off from his realm and Lucien, Dream realises that perhaps it would be prudent for him to swallow his pride and forgive the man. He likely hadn't understood the gross overstepping of his station that he'd committed, by daring to call an Endless his friend, claiming him to be lonely, as if Dream were the one in need of companionship.
Still, he rather misses the mortal, as much as one such as he can.
Dream's perspective on his time in imprisonment. Hob just wants to see his friend again.
