Darkness closes over Gondolin as the forces of Morgoth sweep through it. Its great captains perish, fighting to the end, and streets that were once lined with people going about their daily lives become carnage-covered. In the midst of this devastation, one dying captain ponders the nature of death and the course of her life as she passes into the Halls of Mandos. There she waits for judgment and searches for the family she long ago lost and, slowly, begins to heal.

“Let’s continue.” Ecthelion said softly. He kept his voice low, but he wasn’t sure if it was the echo of the mountains he was afraid of, or if he was scared any sound louder than a whisper would cause Glorfindel to break in front of his eyes – break into golden shards to be trodden underfoot; a fine dust, forever to remain in the dirt of the mountains.

There was already an oath that controlled elves before the one Fëanor made in YT 1495. One that drove the Eldar from Cuiviénen and gave them hope for a new life; one that enabled the Valar to exert greater control than ever before; one that took all semblance of choice and control from fourteen elves in return for the greater good.
"Then Manwë said to the Valar: 'This is the counsel of Ilúvatar in my heart: that we should take up again the mastery of Arda, at whatsoever cost, and deliver the Quendi from the shadow of Melkor.' Fifteen elves swear to bear children for the Valar in exchange for the protection of their race, and thus the Maiar come into being. This story follows the ramifications of that choice from the Years of the Trees through the Fourth Age of Middle-Earth.

Rôg is said to have gathered former Thralls of Angband to create the strongest, bravest, and most fiery House of Wrath in Gondolin. He achieved this first within the chains of Angband of which he was captive. The place he earned his name "Demon"
Maedhros' capture has been kept secret from his brothers and kin. The elf's fall to Morgoth's trap a horrendous ploy to jold the Feanorian against his will to Morgoth's amusement. And to his perverse need to learn all of his fathers secrets.
Three powerful elves locked within the Fortress of their greatest enemy. I do not believe Morgoth knows what he got hinself into.
