“I could just put an arrow in your back while you’re walking away,” Katniss said quietly. “Wait out the others.”
Clove turned around, holding her arm close to her side as Katniss had instructed her to. Despite everything—the sling, the blood—she moved with a kind of savage elegance, like she hadn’t heard a word of the threat. She didn’t look back, like she wasn’t afraid of anything Katniss might do.
“I’m waiting,” she said, vanishing into the trees like she already knew Katniss would follow.

God, Effie couldn’t stand this man. “If you had read your emails, you would know that because of the new requirements, Theater and PE are being combined into one class period for the next three months. I think we should begin reviewing our lesson plans to make sure the kids' education isn’t suffering in the adjustment.”
“Wait- what?” Haymitch stood up, sending a baseball rolling off his desk with a thunk. “That doesn’t make any sense!”
“Obviously,” Effie said shortly.
“What are we gonna do, have the kids sing Les Miserables while playing soccer?”
Effie rolled her eyes. “We’ll have to compromise somehow, Mr. Abernathy.”
“This’ll be a disaster,” Haymitch groaned, and Effie privately agreed.
