Summary
“Zoey!” Mira calls out in alarm from somewhere nearby, not from anywhere visible. When had the mist gotten so terribly thick?
Zoey whirls around, slashing a smaller demon across its throat just as its claws stretched out for her side. “I got it!” She shouts back, tearing off after the slippery demon after getting momentarily sidetracked.
She thinks she hears Mira call out again, but she elects to briefly hold off returning to her side, focus zeroed in on the monster that somehow kept managing to slip away from her just as she got close. She’d find a way to pin it down and finish it off for good, and then she’d be right back, right back into her place within the girls’ reach. Easy as pie!
OR; a hunt goes awry when Zoey is attacked by a new, dangerous breed of demon, and Rumi and Mira are left struggling to face a sickness that seems far more sinister than what meets the eye.

As the artist got up from her throne, the chants of ‘Horyae!’ got even louder. Hearing that, the singer known as Horyae smirked and started creeping closer in an almost seductive way. She walked towards the front of the stage, while the white smoke was falling onto the crowd standing the nearest.
Rumi died a few months ago during the fateful night of Idol Awards. Well, she didn't really die. She just left Huntr/x. She ran away after seeing the fear in her friends' eyes. After being attacked by them, if the Shin-Kal stuck in her shoulder is any proof of that. A few months later, the internet goes crazy after the debut of the rising idol.

“Be a good boy for me, Jinu. Let me take care of you,” she said lowly, not quite a whisper. Jinu choked on the air in his lungs and stared wide eyed at her shoulder. She squeezed his neck and he held back a whimper, the tiniest whine escaping his throat. He blushed bright red.

After so long, Rumi is free.
She is not the only one, though.
The half demon feels him more than sees him, stopping right next to her side as he gently gasps her hand, squeezing it so tightly so thought it might break, the action making her laugh softly. She turns her head to see Jinu giving her an adoring smile, pride glowing on his face. He doesn’t even have to say it to know how proud he is of her, eyes tender with the emotion. Rumi has to will herself to not let herself cry again, doing that more than enough with Zoey and Mira.
“The patterns,” Jinu starts off with, voice barely hiding the awe in it. His smile begins to widen, happy to see the fangs poking out freely in the world. “They look good on you, Rumi.”

As they came apart, Zoey traced down Mira and Rumi’s arms, so gentle it was probably an accident. Her fingers followed the lines of Rumi’s patterns, and Rumi was struck by pleasure. The patterns flashed pink for a moment before settling back to their typical shade. She couldn’t contain her moan as she was overcome by sensation. Embarrassed, she covered her mouth with her hands, pulled away, and blushed scarlet.

A year after the Idol Awards, Rumi is still plagued constantly with little reminders of her demon heritage. She and the other girls have mostly settled into a routine now, and Rumi is slowly getting more comfortable in her own skin, but with that comes some discomfort—and Zoey's and Mira's eyes on her.
A lot.
She knows that they're just being good friends, really, she does.
But she can't help the heat that blooms in her chest whenever she feels Mira watching her.
The fond smile that spreads across her face as Zoey infodumps about her new favorite turtle video.
She's in deep.
Not to mention she's still dealing with the fallout of rejecting Celine's teachings. The older woman had withdrawn her support after Rumi exposed her patterns to the world, and Rumi still has nightmares about the night she confronted her mentor.
So the night of their final show in a national tour, when Bobby inevitably forces their group to take a break, Zoey decides to drag them all to a high-end party where they let loose.
A little too loose.
