Summary
Jared is nearing 18 soon and the day hangs over him like a dark cloud--no the black death. He's been in this world almost 18 years, and sees no benefit from staying in it. Being a practiced magician, over a decade (mind you), he decides to open a portal to travel into other worldly dimensions. He's very witty, maybe a little foolish, but very determined to get what he wants.
Jensen is the know it all, bored as fuck, deity that answers the call. The incantation doesn't name him specifically, but he can't resist the lure of innocence as he follows the voice all the way across the rainbow bridge to the source. He finds Jared foolish and completely innocent. He decides to take advantage without fully understanding the consequences of his own actions.
This is the complex story of how they went from being complete strangers, to bitter enemies turned reluctant allies. Once an alliance is struck, they develop a unique working relationship all their own.

They had a love of music and performance in common, for one thing. Blending their talents together into a successful group would take effort and a willingness to compromise, not to mention, a lot of hard work, like Tahmoh had told them the first time they met. Jared hoped they had the perseverance to see it through.

Several reasons attracted me to this story. First and foremost, I’d read this author's works a few years ago and really enjoyed them. The second reason being the tags, specifically ‘bed-sharing’ and ‘sleeping on top of each other’. As y’all most definitely know by now, I am an absolute cuddle addict. Couple that with this author’s amazing writing style, I was expecting a treat going into this. And… I’m ecstatic to say I got exactly what I’d been hoping for (and more). It’s seriously baffling how fics riddled with spelling and grammatical errors, not to mention a barely cohesive plotline, get tons of engagement while stories like this one get passed on. Y’all have no idea what y’all are missing. I can only be thankful that this author wrote as much as she did for this story. My mental wellbeing has improved immensely after spending time with these characters and their lives, and I'll be shocked if that isn't the case for you as well. :'))

Summary
Winged ones are considered exotic animals, and it's illegal to own one. When the human population notices that the winged population is severely declining, they open up enclosures in zoos to start breeding programs.
Jared has grown up being mocked for being attracted to males - something he made clear when he didn't realize he would be made fun of for it by his peers for the rest of his life. He's convinced that no other winged one would ever be like him, and he's doomed to die without a mate.
When Jared fails to take place in the annual mating ritual once again, he is disowned by his family that finally realizes he's never going to change. On his own, Jared doesn't last long before he's caught by humans and put into a zoo enclosure. Jared sees an attractive male preening and showing off his wings in a clear invitation to mate, and even through his sadness at missing his freedom, he is filled with jealousy for whichever female has caught the man's attention.
Jensen was born and raised in the enclosure and never desired anyone as a mate, but the new arrival definitely catches his eye. He just can't quite figure out what he's doing wrong in his increasingly flamboyant attempts to attract him.
