King’s Landing was too hot. Hot, and loud, and reeking of rancid sea air and the rankness of too many bodies bustling in too tight a space. Jon hated it and he had hated it since the moment he saw the towers of the Red Keep and the city’s high walls from horseback in the procession that brought him to the capital. Jon tugged on the collar of his doublet, pulling it away from his neck to let what little breeze there was blow onto the sweaty skin there. Jon was not made for the South, he decided. He was a Snow, made for cold and ice. Not for thick sea air and the hot southern sun.
(Jon's lord father may be Hand of the King and his half-sister engaged to the prince but in King's Landing Jon Snow is nothing more than a bastard. Lonely and bored, Jon takes to walking the markets on the Street of Steel. Satin had come to King's Landing for a fresh start but finds himself living much the same as he had in Oldtown - wasting his days and working away his nights as a lowly whore in a brothel on the Street of Silk. By rights, they should never meet. By chance, they do. A story of friendship and love, desire and denial, push and pull, will and won't as two boys who were never supposed to fall in love do just that.)

Summary
The Houses Stark and Targaryen run all organised crime in King's Landing, as they have for as long as anyone can remember, which does mean quite some time something considering they're vampires. They've been rivals at best and bitter enemies at worst for just as long. But it's never been quite as bad as these last hundred years, following a war and a birth and several killings at the hands of – well, that depends on who you ask.
Jon thinks his uncle the Lord Stark is probably telling the truth, except for the times when he doesn't.

Could it be a love for the history books—or just another forever game for a femme top?
Then Terry "Giantsbane" (Tormund Giantsbane), a wild-card, free-spirited, beefy lineman, works his way into the picture and complicates everything further.
Are there any good choices? Is it all just a dangerous game?

This is a general fiction AU story for both GoT and ASOIAF (I borrow elements from each) that begins with familiar events in Yunkai and then diverges into a distinct narrative with new heroes, villains, love interests, and locations mixed in with canon characters, familiar settings, and re-imagined story beats. Politics, war strategies, shifting allegiances, and lore play a major part.
The story is not told exclusively from Daenerys's POV, but she is the main POV character. The entire work revolves around her life, including her struggles to defeat enemies both magical and mundane, overcome tragedy, go on a journey of self-exploration, and perhaps find love and a happy ending, even if the path is long, tortuous, and uncertain.
Daenerys struggles with very real emotions, there are multiple significant love interests, and if she DOES have a happily-ever-after with Jon (or anyone else), it would only be after a long character-journey filled with angst. I only hope that at the end, everything feels earned.

"For me?” Satin asked and held out his hand for the bird to drop the pebble in his palm.
“You!” Mormont's raven cried, mouth free at last to make as much noise as it liked. It leaned down and pecked the rock as if to draw Satin’s attention to it. “Pretty! Pretty!”
“Yes.” Satin agreed vaguely. “Very pretty. Thank you.”
The rock was pretty, he supposed. It was round and soft from the water of the river the bird had no doubt pulled it from, and it had a shiny band of some mineral Satin couldn’t name running through it. It was the nicest of the dozen other rocks the bird had gifted him this past week. He slipped this new one into his pocket and heard them clatter off the other three he’d been so generously given just today. It was the raven’s newest habit these last few days while they camped in the ruins of Moat Cailin and now Satin had already amassed quite the collection of useless ‘gifts’. He was now the proud owner of more than a dozen pebbles, a brass button, three blown-glass beads, a chipped copper penny, and a marble.
(The march down south has begun. Jon's warg powers grow and Satin's finds himself on the receiving end of some oddly affectionate animals with gifts on their mind)

Oh boy, alright, uhm... So, I was binge reading Rosavalda_Freya's JonSatin series for the second time (because her "A Slow Burning Fire, Tended With Care" is like THE JonSatin Story with a capital S!) and I got rudely attacked by the JonSatin feels and headed back to my own series.
Only... Suddenly I found myself elbows deep in a multi-chapters modern AU of my own (rude) and instead of being responsible and wait until it's all done, here's the first chapter.
Jon wakes up at the hospital after being assaulted, with a fragmented memory, a well-meaning but overbearing brother and all he wants is to be left alone.

It had been nearly three months since Satin had last been allowed to massage him, with the last one having been the very night before his wrist had been snapped and his hand had been cast and bandaged, and it was beginning to take a toll on him. Satin could see it. He was not blind. Or, rather, he knew Jon well enough to see what others did not. He was slower to rise from chairs, slower to mount the castle’s stairs, even if only by a split-second. It was not enough that his men could see – Jon would never have allowed that – but that breath of readying himself that Jon took each time told Satin all he needed to know. He never complained, never groaned or grit his teeth visibly and he certainly never asked for Satin’s aid. He simply bore it and continued.
Satin had offered to take his place at Jon’s knee more than a few times in recent months, even when the cast was still on but Jon had always shaken his head.
“Not with your wrist.” He’d say. “Focus on your own wounds for now, Satin. Mine are old. Yours are fresh.”
(With Satin's wrist healed and a forgotten anniversary on the horizon, he can finally massage the old wound on Jon's leg again. But that's not the only lingering wound they find.)
