For a moment, the slightest moment in time, his breaks began to heal. The hole in his gut was closing and the blood in veins was warming. Because of Bernard. Because Bernard had laughed at his jokes and had planted a kiss firmly on his lips. Tim was happy, so damn happy for nearly a year before he knew exactly what had to happen. Bernard had started asking questions. So many questions that Tim couldn’t answer without telling him about Red Robin, about all of them. And that was a secret Tim swore to take to his grave.

Tim was eagerly counting down the days, making good use of the advent calendar Bruce set out, each day on the calendar opening to a quaint little wintry image. Bruce and Alfred promised the full Christmas experience from decorating a real, live, Christmas tree to watching the best Christmas movies (it was a crime Bruce had never seen Elf, Tim was determined to make this his other gift to Bruce). It was supposed to be a real family Christmas, like Tim always saw in the movies.
“Supposed”, being the operative word.

Tim was patrolling a little too close to Crime Alley for his liking, but he would be careful.
Hood still hated and despised him, and the Bat clan wouldn't help him for anything. Tim wasn't one of them, had never been one of them, but that was ok. He accepted that.
Tim just had to be more aware of his surroundings tonight and make sure he got home in one piece. Easier said than done in Gotham, but he was Red Robin, and he could finish tonight's patrol without issue. And really, the chances of him running into Hood on a Friday night were slim to none...

Despite wearing gloves, Tim can hardly feel his fingers yet he finds himself clutching onto the coat Detective Montoya had put over his shoulders. He opens his mouth to thank her but realizes she is now suddenly without her winter wear so Tim shrugs it off and tries to return it to her.
“No thanks, I should be okay,” He says, ignoring the way his voice shakes.
“Kid, your cape is dripping wet and your lips are turning blue; Take it until your boss tells you to get in the car.” Montoya crosses her arms in more of a parental stance than a chilled one and Tim can’t tell if she’s hiding feeling cold (because there is no way someone isn’t cold in negative degree weather, soaking wet or not.

Or, Tim has pneumonia and tries to hide it from Bruce, out of fear Bruce will die because of it. He's overthinking it, he's just like me fr.

There are plenty of stories of the boys acting like brothers but they're always in their twenties or in their late teens so I wanted to write a story where we focus in them being chaotic siblings from a young age, where they openly fight over petty things such as eating each other's burgers, make bad decisions and break rules and just be a chaotic, dysfunctional family.
Has scenes from Young justice or continues on from some of its story plots. It follows season one's timeline.

“It’s just a cold,” he said. There was no hiding the horrible rasp in his voice, but he tried to sit up and look as healthy as possible.
Kon looked at him like he was insane. He was back to feeling 100% and certainly looked it. Something about the light in his eyes, the bounce in his hair, and his sun-kissed, clear skin made Tim feel particularly like gum scraped off the bottom of a shoe. He coughed again— a horrible, hacking sound.
