Summary
Before he can go to Clarksdale, Remmick has a near-fatal encounter with another vampire. Before the sun can finish him off, he is saved by Jane Townsend, a biracial healer living alone in a hut on the edge of a plantation. One that her mother's owner, Big Daddy Jackson, left them both - much to his son's ire. His son, in fact, wants nothing more than to evict her and claim even that small spit of land for himself, for reasons known only to him.
Kept at arm's length by both races, facing the threat of eviction, with a long-dead mother and no father, Jane is lonely enough to let this strange, pale man into her home... and into her heart. And Remmick is never one to turn down an invitation.
As romance blooms between them, Remmick and Jane bring out new sides to each other: The former rediscovers some of his lost humanity while the latter learns that, sometimes, the only way to live free is to live in the shadows.

A bitch can't stop writing scenes for the Sinners (2025) movie so here's a collection of them. All are technically canon compliant (minus a slight rewrite that literally changes nothing but the pacing, idk) and just how I imagine their past, present, and futures go. After you move into the family cottage in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, you find your family journal. With dates back to when your family fled Ireland during the Great Famine, you throw yourself into translating the book to connect with your dead relatives.
Unfortunately, that also leads to you accidentally enticing Remmick to your front door. While you know better than to let him into your home, you can't deny how badly you want him.

"…No." One short step closer. He could touch you now, if he reached out. If he wasn't what he is. If you said yes. Instead, you say: "I keep thinking about you," hating that it's true even as you trail your fingers down, watching his eyelids flutter shut as the words hit him like blows.
One, two, three, four, five.
He shivers, then goes carefully still. Worries the inside of his bottom lip with his teeth in a way that you're probably not meant to see.
"Must be all pent up then, you poor thing." That's careful, too. Spoken low and gentle, as if you're a skittish animal he's trying his best not to spook.
