In a night before Nya and Murtessa's challenge, Jay finds himself unable to sleep for the reminders of Skybound. Nya reminds him that if they got through this once, they'll get through this again-- however long it takes.
Work wherein Murtessa's attempt to forcibly marry Jay are taken seriously instead of played for laughs. Nadakhan also haunts the narrative because for some reason Jay cannot know peace in Ninjago.

‘Cole felt like he was dreaming, walking through a thick haze, senses dulled to a deafening numbness. He couldn't feel anything. He saw leaves rustling, but he couldn't feel the breeze. He could barely feel the ground under his feet.’
I was blown away by the love I received for my recent angsty ball of Ninjago fanfiction; Just Breathe. So I wrote another one, this time focused on Cole’s time as a ghost. While Cole takes centre stage, there is plenty of Lloyd/Morro angst and Jay/Nya/Nadakhan angst mixed in.
The fic spans from the start of S5 until post S7. It is canon compliant, but focusing on the times in between. S6 in particular is treated from the team’s perspective, so skipped over completely (although the events are eventually discussed).
TW: There is violence, but it is only slightly worse than what you would expect in canon. There is discussions of rape. The rape itself isn’t graphically described, but it comes up multiple times. I will put an author’s note at the start of each chapter that is relevant. -

I guess this one-shot is how I would write that convo?? idk. Anyways yeah. I will always love these two losers, they both don't deserve any hate.
