Summary
Right when Misa had finally grown content in the quiet rhythm of her new life, the universe drops an annoyingly handsome and definitely unhinged royal on her (literally). Suddenly, her carefully hidden identity and mildly-boring little life is threatened by a nuisance that refuses to accept the concept of personal space and has a vested interest in dragging her to all sorts of trouble. It doesn't help that her feelings go haywire around him or that he has a weird obsession with her heartbeat (def a weirdo).
But life definitely feels warmer and brighter ever since the vexing presence had burrowed its way in. Maybe...just maybe, it's not so bad afterall?

Panic breathed down his neck, threatening to eviscerate him with her prickly teeth. She danced around his frame, pulling at his skin with her fever-hot fingers — trying to infect him with terror. He hid himself away — pressed himself into the dark pockets of his marrow that he shared with another. Like ancient mages rune carvings on skin, except he had carved himself there: Devlin Potter.
“You believed him." It was yanked out of him. Fractured fragments of memories and shards of intuition ricocheted in his chest, the shrapnel of an internal war. “You let him fool you.”
“I did,” she said. Tears gathered and fell across her cheeks. “I did. But Harry? Never. Never.”
Nearly three years after Voldemort kidnapped Harry's son and sent his body back, Harry discovers he has actually been alive the entire time. Together with a werewolf Death Eater, they devise a plan to rescue the boy, but getting him back is only the beginning.
A tense story about loss and return, intermingled with the complexity of blood, love, and choice. If you enjoy stories that look at alternative paths for young Tom Riddle, you may enjoy this. There is nothing overtly graphic, but I don't shy away from the realities of war and trauma.
