Summary
Astarion isn't used to kindness without having to pay a price for it. Especially after having his mind infected with a parasite, and meeting others who also suffer from it, he wouldn't think there'd be any inch of hospitality. Then he meets HER; she who smiles and laughs even after seeing the face of death at her door. One would believe a wayward soul like hers would be easy to pray upon, and that is certainly what Astarion plans to do. Still...there's something about her.

There are several definitions for the term “limbo”. If you were to ask Crowley what the definition was, he would most likely tell you that it was a type of dance that humans enjoyed partaking in while extremely drunk at weddings. While he is, somewhat, correct, Aziraphale would be the one to tell you (several) of the real definitions. Crowley and Aziraphale were in their own Limbo On Earth. After spending two full years apart, the longest they’ve gone in more time than they can remember, they each found it strange to attempt sliding back into the grooves they had carved out together Before.
Or: Crowley and Aziraphale have to work out their emotions separately before reuniting after Aziraphale is fired from his role as Supreme Archangel.
