Tintin just wants a break from everything. His own mind is bringing back all the feelings he doesn't want, and when he's tried to just sit down in his room late at night, having lit a few candles to focus on and bask in their calm light and warmth, he's rudely interrupted by an unfortunately familiar person who him and Haddock thought they had finally gotten rid of just a couple of years ago. It turns out he's been waiting a very long time for this, with feelings from the very beginning, and had already been stalking outside his apartment for a while now, before deciding to take complete advantage of a very clear opportunity, and Tintin begins to wonder how real his feelings are for Sakharine, or if it's just pure sweet manipulation by the man in front of him.

It's an open secret that Gotham would change people. Not just their personality. The ones who have gained her favour would be gifted with powers, strength, wit. But she wouldn't create them out of thin air. They’d be little enhancements: A body needing less sleep, a mind that worked at a speed slightly above average or an improved hearing. Subtle and slow enough in their transformation, that the people chosen by the city, would hardly register the shift to their own bodies.
And a hero from another universe was no exception, if he proved himself as worthy. The ability to create webs in his body so he could build himself a home and the ability to have a mental connection with spiders so he wouldn't be too lonely, were child's play for Gotham.

She looked at Kara’s reflection in the glass - blurred, faint, ghostlike. The same jawline. A different set to her shoulders. The weight had redistributed.
“Why’d you cover the scar?” Lena asked.
Kara didn’t look away from the window. “Because I didn’t want to see something that reminded me of how badly we pretended we weren’t in love.”
There it was. Clean. Unvarnished. A fact, not a wound.
Lena sat still.
She hadn’t expected the word love to sound so procedural. So intact.
“I didn’t pretend.” Lena said.
Kara finally turned toward her. “You did. You just didn’t notice.”
The train hurtled forward.
Lena’s knuckles ached from how tightly she was gripping the seat’s edge. She forced herself to let go. One finger at a time.

Inside, it’s framed by deep maroon curtains, held apart and letting light into the space, giving the world a cropped peek at the story within. There is a single lamp in one corner, tall and simple and illuminating the room in a warm, rose-golden glow that Alex can feel despite the chill in the air around him.
And curled into a plush chair by the window, with a book in his hands and his bottom lip caught between his teeth, is a man.
The man is all long limbs folded together, broad shoulders that would probably swallow Alex completely, a thick coral sweater that stretches across his chest, a halo of blonde hair twisting around his ears and sweeping across his forehead.
Alex stands up and watches him turn a page with a furrow in his brow, his focus on reading sharp and intense. It makes Alex forget about the sting in his knees as he wonders what could be twisting his features like that.
Maybe the man is almost to the climax of the story, the big, unexpected turn of events approaching with rapid speed. Maybe he's concerned about the plot, wondering if he should push through something he isn't enjoying.
All Alex knows for sure is that he is fucking beautiful.
