Summary
Geralt doesn’t like magic. Magic, or rather, chaos, as Yennefer reminds him to call it every time they talk about it, is rarely responsible for anything good in his life.
It starts with the Trials, where they beat Geralt down to a pulp only to build him back up into someone completely different, someone he doesn’t recognize as himself for a very long time, because every time he looks into a mirror, those yellow eyes staring back at him seem to belong to someone else.
But the chaos is now a part of him, and so he uses Aard and Igni and Yrden and Quen and Axii.
Every time he lifts his hand to cast a sign though, it leaves him with a sour taste in his mouth. He wishes he didn’t have to, that his strength was enough.Geralt doesn’t like chaos.
That is, until he meets a certain bard.
