Summary
Ace and Sabo die in the altercation against Bluejam at the start. Luffy can't accept that and 'imagines' them next to him all the time. Garp, Dadan and Makino don't see a reason to stop it as it keeps him on his feet. It's still sad to see... Fast-forward to gear 5 and Luffy keeps seeing Ace and Sabo everywhere, they grew together with him and are adults now too. With Nika he 'wishes' them to be real. Giving Garp who is there a heart attack when they just pop into existence and hug Luffy tightly as they are here again.

"What do you mean by 'Nika'?" Sabo further asked. Luffy groggily opened his eyes, and spoke, "Did someone call me?" Garp frowned at that.
"Luffy, your name is Luffy, not that!!!" He said with anger. Luffy who sat up now glared at Garp before frowning, "But why do I need to hide my real name?!!!" He asked and crossed his arms on his chest. "I don't understand at all!!"
"Your real name is Nika?" Ace asked to which Luffy nodded happily. Garp scratched his head in worry.
"Fine!" Garp said, "Listen to me!" Luffy looked at Garp and the others even did the same. "If the marines ever come to know about your real name, and if by any chance the World Government came to know about your existence they will kill you in spot."
"Why will they kill coz of my name?" Luffy frowned but soon burst out laughing, "And do you think," Luffy's eyes flickered to golden, "they can kill me?" Luffy started laughing hard, his one hand on his stomach and the other on his eyes.

"I don't think I’ll make it before you leave–" You look away, not bearing to face his piercing stare anymore.
"I can wait!" he interrupts, letting go of your hand as quickly as he took it. "I mean uhh... me and the crew... we can wait for you," he stutters out. "This place seems pretty cool. I wouldn't mind staying here for a few more days."
"We'll see," you softly chuckle in an attempt to hide your blank eyes. "I mean, who else is supposed to save you when you're halfway beaten to death?"
Hearing his halfhearted laugh sent a striking pain through your chest. You swallow hard to keep a sob from escaping your throat as you realise this might be the last time you ever hear it. Tears roll down your cheeks, blurring your vision as you lock eyes with the freckled man you've been dreaming about for the past months.
The familiar warmth tingles on your skin as he gently cups your face, his thumb carefully wiping away the tears on your cheek. Without breaking your gaze he leans in closer and whispers, "I don't want to be saved by anybody else, y/n."

Summary
Marco and Ann have feelings for each other, though everyone knows this. When getting together they go through challenges that threaten their relationship but their bond only gets stronger in the end. Sacrifices were made and death took most during the war between Navy and Pirates.
When time takes its course, the pirates are reborn with a different name but are vital in few numbers. However, with time and a tight bond, children come into the picture, putting them in dangers way.
