Jonathan remembered the days when trying something new like this was a terrifying and far-off idea, whenever they had yet to explain their exact position on the asexual spectrum and the fact that they liked kinks and dynamics and things and situations all without the expectation of sex but that sometimes, sex-adjacent things were okay, too but only when the mood was right and everything fell into place just right.

Jon stops what he’s doing but doesn’t engage, his gaze flitting about the flat to all the little tasks he could still get done. He’s been worked up all morning, scattered to the point of being frantic, starting to do one thing before instantly being distracted by another, pacing back and forth through the flat as Martin tries to get his uni coursework done.
Martin’s book shuts with a decisive thwip. “Jon,” he says. It is not a request.

Tim cocks his head at an angle, his tongue poking out between his lips, and narrows his eyes at Jon. "What are you doing after work tonight? Both of you."
Jon and Martin share a look, then shrug in unison. "Nothing, I guess," says Martin. "Why?"
Trying to be coy, Tim purses his lips to hide the involuntary grin that threatens to spread across his face. "I've got ideas," he says simply.
"What ideas?" asks Jon.
