Summary
Realistically, the highest quality fanfic for Subnautica is "In Charge" by NoCoincidence. It's a genuinely well-made fic that I have no complaints about. But one day, I wondered what it would be like if Marguerit, who canonically survived through canon, interacted with a post-canon Varien and Volara.
This is the result.
(I am not the best writer, and I certainly can’t do a fic as good as “In Charge” justice, but I can certainly try. Please point out any OOC actions or plot holes as they arrive, so I can continue getting better at writing.) -

Bart wasn’t alone.
He’d suspected it for months. He’d seen the giant ship when he’d surfaced after the huge earthquake a while ago, though it didn’t seem like there were any survivors at first. But then he saw things that were strange, out of place. It was inconspicuous at first. Wounds on some creatures that couldn’t have been made naturally, wounds that looked like they were made by a knife. Things like Stalker teeth or limestone outcrops disappearing from the location he’d seen them mere days before. At first he’d thought it was the last of his sanity slipping away.

A concept that never fully made it to Sanctuary, but AR-CHI was supposed to have some more subtle defects with the manufacture of his vessel- one of which being an error in his unique bioreactor system which is meant to be so efficient that it produces no waste whatsoever. Unfortunately due to that error, it’s not as efficient as it is normally, preventing him from eating any artificial foods- kinda like how IBS works so he needs very specific foods if he wants to eat and because of how aggressive that condition was supposed to be, he would need a LOT of pampering after an episode which I guess this plot bunny demonstrates

First fic here, inspired by SBZ and the fact that I couldn't figure out how to draw AL-AN. This accidently created an OC and the little guys has lead me through all the hoops and icy tunnels to complete this mess of a writing.
