Time opened his eye to a world on fire. The bittersweet smell of smoke forced its way into his lungs, and he coughed. Above him, where the roof used to be, was the moon, just as terrible and big as it had been in Termina. It filled Time’s vision.
“Oh, thank Hylia you’re awake.”
Time reluctantly peeled his eye from the giant red one in the sky and looked at the person in front of him. Warriors. His blond hair swayed gently in the breeze. The plate armor reflected the red light. His blue scarf was slightly torn by the hem. In his hand was a sword, ready to defend them both if needed. Time thought Warriors looked more like the typical storybook hero than Time ever had.Ten different versions of how the Chain met. The first nine chapters will feature a story in which eight of the Links meet their last member. The last one will feature a story about how all of them meet at once. Title may be subject to change.

“Hi, this is Sun, a third year student at Linked University, and I will be surveying students across campus to discuss bullying amongst peers, specifically in the dorms.”
Sun smiles cheerily on the screen, her face looking a little shiny, probably from the sweat from the pressure and from the sun beaming straight into her face.
Sky adjusts the camera so that the greasy shine is more subtle.
“I am going to grab a student on the track to discuss dorm bullying. There aren’t many people on the track right now, so it will be isolated enough to have privacy to discuss this topic.” Sun continues, and Sky watches her eyes focus on the field- specifically one individual who looks very familiar.
Sky freezes, and Sun quickly catches on, but for all the wrong reasons.
‘We are going to be the laughing stock of the whole university…’ Sky thinks to himself, and mentally prepares his grave as Sun strides forward like a crusader.

“Stressed, yeah. She looks like she's boutta pluck her feathers out.”
“Might've,” Warriors says. “Looking a bit thin over here.”
“Well, that ain't good.” Twilight purses his lips. Warriors keeps petting the bird absently, neatly arranging her feathers into straighter lines. She hooks her giant beak around his shoulder. “I'll tell Sun about it. Sky's off recently, have ya noticed?”
“I have, but I wasn't sure if I was imagining it,” Warriors says. He frowns thoughtfully. “Sky's normal and Sky's off are remarkably similar. I worry he's bottling something up.”
Crimson lets out a mournful little noise. Twilight's face twists into a concerned grimace. “…Do ya remember how Sky said Loftwings are extensions of their souls?”
“I do,” Warriors says. Realization dawns in his eyes. “Wait, do you think…”
Sometimes it's easy enough to put two and two together. What's difficult, Twilight is finding, is dealing with the answer found.

Their strength has been drained, their abilities have been altered, and several secrets are about to come to light as the relationship between bearers of the Hero's Spirit is revealed in ways it's never been before.
What connection does this new world have to their quest? And why do they keep hearing dice rolling?
Arc 1 (Ch 1-21): Bandits and drow cause trouble around a small coastal town.
Arc 2 (Ch 22-39): The corrupted government hides secrets beneath the sewers of a major city.
Arc 3 (Ch 40-60): Using what they've learned, the Chain goes after Ganon and the mad deity responsible for the mess.Self-imposed challenge:
- Write the LU boys with the abilities of D&D 5E PCs.
- No multi-classing, do not let any Link share the same class as another Link, use all 13 official 5E classes (use OCs as necessary to cover all the classes).
- Use only official character options.
- Use every class feature that each member of the Chain gets.
- Take the characters from Level 1 to Level 20. -
