Itachi shoved the thermometer back into the drawer maybe a bit more violently than necessary, and resolved to pretend he had never used it.
Fever? What fever? Itachi was a strong Konoha shinobi and about to embark on his first ever overnight training session with his team.
His team of ANBU agents. Because Itachi had made ANBU.
'And ANBU agents,' Itachi thought, firmly shutting the drawer. 'Do not get sick.'
Or; Itachi gets sick. A "training session" gets turned into more of a "sleepover at the captain's house" (much to Shisui's delight) as team Ro takes care of him.

All four of the strangers were hanging from the ceiling, watching the fight behind their soulless white and red masks. One of them raised his hands, and the floor of the hospital erupted. Debris went flying as massive tree trunks split the ground and wrapped the curse in a tight, unforgiving hold.
“What the f—“ Kugisaki started, only to get cut off as the silver-haired one dropped from the ceiling, lightning coating his arm. He plummeted towards the curse and, at the last moment, struck out. The silver-haired stranger landed deftly on his feet, the lightning on his palm fading out, leaving only the smoking mass that was the curse. Fushiguro gaped, astonished at the display of jujutsu so inherently destructive, he’d only ever seen something like it from Gojo-sensei.

Summary
The rock falls and Obito dies on impact. His eyes are burned, as per village protocol. Kakashi mourns, and so does Rin. Zetsu and Madara can’t get their hands on that particular Uchiha, but they adapt. Life moves on, and so does everyone else.
15 years later, Naruto turns 12. Team 7 is formed, with Kakashi Hatake as its jonin instructor.
The story is somehow completely different, and yet exactly the same.

Because the village had better med-nin than her. Better fighters too. Kaede was useful the further you got from the gates, but that was a conversation to be had with Tenzou at three in the morning.
“You don’t miss being here?” Ino asked, looking at her intently. Something in the delivery of the question made Kaede's breath catch.
“I might start to.”
As an ANBU agent of Team Ro, Miano Kaede has a lot to do. Getting her teammates home alive is the top priority. So she has no time for romance, it's not like the crush she has on Ino will ever lead to anything anyways.
OR
ANBU slice of life in a nebulous canon divergence AU with competent women, found family feels with hurt/comfort and some mutual pining. This is very self indulgent.
Story is halfway done and fully outlined. On Hiatus :)

Summary
Before his death, Tobirama set up a safe-guard for the village. If any suspicious movement were to happen with the Uchiha clan's chakra, he would be pulled back to life. So here he was, ready to put the clan back in it's place once more.
Come to find, it wasn't the Uchiha who needed their asses handed to them. He finds out soon enough that apparently his seal counts 'All but three Uchiha dying' as a good enough reason to revive him.
If someone had told him that his scroll was going to bring him back to life so that he could babysit a six-year-old Uchiha child and play tug-a-war over village responsibilities with a half-dead Uchiha sapling, maybe he wouldn't have crafted it after all.
Unfortunately, it was too late to brood on now.

Summary
As of right now, this is how Kakashi sees it.
He’ll die a tragic, but heroic and completely preventable death. He’ll be mourned by few and their moms– he has quite a thing going on with the moms of Konoha– and he’ll be able to beg the two friends he killed for forgiveness. Or, he can go along with the whims of this weak random girl and do insane things like take a break, eat on time, sleep everyday, and talk to someone.
As of right now, Shisui will either shine brighter than any star in the night sky, or explode and incinerate everything around him in a catastrophic supernova. Itachi will either let the oppressive weight of his duty burn him up like kindling on a pyre, or blow up with Shisui, or grow a spine, or something.
As of right now, Genma and Tenzo watch them orbit on the sidelines. Amaya “weak random girl” Fujiwara finds what it means to stand for what you believe in, Minato reaches out, silver spinning in clear blue eyes, and Naruto lays next to Sasuke wishing their stupid parents didn’t have to be so annoying.
On some distant moon, Kakashi figures that everything might turn out okay if he stops being a hipster emo freak about it.

Itachi wasn’t sure if it was dumb luck or skill that when he missed the branch he was aiming for he was able to snag another on the way down without too much stumble in his step. No one even noticed. He caught a flash of white in his peripherals before it moved on ahead of him- well, almost no one.
