Peter was 5 when the blip happened. His dad and mom blipped away, but he didn’t. He’d been at the park with his mom when it happened, and suddenly, he was just alone. May and Ben Parker had been close by when it happened, watching the woman succumb to dust. It was an easy decision to take the boy with them and bring him to the police station. Except the world had never undergone something as drastic as the blip, and the officers had more pressing things to figure out. So, may and Ben took him in, and now it’s five years later, Peter is ten, and everyone’s blipped back.

It genuinely makes James do a double take when he sees it's a scrawny blonde kid getting his ass handed to him in an alleyway. Suddenly it's 1928 again and everything was back how it was supposed to be. The kid in front of him cries out in pain and James is brought back to the present, a soft "goddamn it" coming out in a breath before he steps into the alleyway.
"Don't you gentleman have something better to do?" he says, grabbing their attention.

James Barnes is back on his own, an entire world away from the avenging and loss his life had become. He spends his day trying to blend back in, flying under the radar until he stops a teenager from getting the shit kicked out of him and he's thrown back into a life reminiscent of the one he left behind in the 40's.
James doesn't know if he deserves to find love, but he does know he needs to keep his head out of the past and focus on his future. He's on his own now, no Steve to fight for him and no Steve to fight for. He needs to make his life his own and forge his own path.

The cars in the streets begin to swerve about wildly, a few crash in deafening screeches and glass shatters, spilling out onto the roads. Children crying, parents calling out names, gasps of the injured wondering what the fuck is going on, shouting about dust of all things? With both headphones gone, his assist tumbled off the desk with his sudden movements, everything was somehow so much quieter.
The noise, the overwhelming chatter and smells, had been halved- almost exactly halved.

Thor is King. That's all he ever wanted to rule over, to protect his people. Now is his final test. He must rebuild Asgard after Ragnarok, maintain an alliance with Midgard, and somehow defend his realm from any threat that may seek them out in their weakened state. Of course all of that's well and good but doing it while also trying to stitch his splintered family back together and dealing with politics of the like he has never had to cross? Well, it's quite the test for sure.
