Still, his silent puppeteer handles him with care, for they still have their strings which binds them together.
To a certain extent, only the Batter had access to their voice, for issuing commands and giving orders that can only vaguely ring in his head during the purification process.
It’s better this way.

Summary
Benoît Eloha; world famous baseball batter whose career was sharply cut short when the pitcher sent a stray ball directly into his unguarded face during a practice.
His wife signed a contract to send his comatose body to a planetary system to act as a "fuse" between a pilot (the player) and the avatar body used to explore the alien environment as she didn't want his looming alcohol problem to affect their child more than it already had. This was a clean and easy way to get rid of Benoît that wouldn't cause later grief and she was certain that it wouldn't cause him any pain.
Little did she know that Benoît wasn't braindead as the doctors had told her, and he now faces a journey where he and the pilot will painstakingly merge into one while trying to explore the zones.

While the player struggles to figure out a way to return what they had until now thought to be fictional characters to their respective games, it ends up being just as much of a struggle to stop them from turning their town into a smoking crater in the meanwhile, and that’s not even mentioning what went wrong with the one game that didn’t send any characters into their world or the dreadful things that lurk beyond their computer...
