Summary
An original song/poem inspired by Prince Rhaegar Targaryen from A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones.
The song is from the perspective of the common people of Westeros who loved Rhaegar and placed all their hopes on his shoulders. I wanted to depict what they hoped he could be and how his death caused those hopes to fade away. He was different things to different people. No two characters seemed to have the exact same opinion of him. Was he the perfect prince, warrior, and bard? Was he the mad dragon, kidnapper, and villain?
In the end, even to those who believed in him, all he became was a distant legend. Just like his lost rubies that children searched for in the mud of the Trident.Series
