Ren does not respond. He stares at his feet.
“I do apologize if I’m prying. I was just curious who would catch your eye, since you have so many connections and perfect potential paramours who would literally die for you.”

It appears when he smiles, a minuscule divot at the left corner of his mouth. It’s a different smile than Akira remembers seeing—small and private. Smug, sometimes, but not mean.
