Summary
A lowly member of Patran royalty seeks reparations after learning of the marriage between Laurent of Vere and Damianos of Akielos, announcing that a betrothal contract between himself and Laurent had been drawn up by the traitor Regent when he was King.
It is not gold that he wants to be repaid. He seems to underestimate just how much Damen is still aching for revenge on the Regent — and anyone else who dares attempt to come between them.
“It is simple,” he says. “By way of reparations for this betrayal, I ask for one night with the Prince of Vere.”

Summary
In hindsight, Damen should have seen the signs. That there is no bouncer at the door but a guy selling actual tickets. That the door has actual glass in it one can see through. That they are just in time for the second half, and that, of course, no phones are to be used. Nikandros drags Damen past all of this until they end up in a dark room with people on a stage, and they fall into the closest seats available. It takes them a few long moments to realise where they have ended up.
“Nik,” says Damen, “I think this is a—"
Another person enters the stage and Damen’s mind goes blank.Drunk out of their minds after a night out, Nikandros and Damen mistake a theatre for a strip club, and Damen falls in love with the actor on stage. Which poses a problem, for Laurent de Vere famously does not date. But what if he takes a leap of faith, just this once, to prove that all athletes are the same anyway?
Little do they know what they are getting themselves into.

Wow, what a ride! Absolutely loved this author for really nailing Laurent's POV! There were a few interpretations of emotions and motivations that I never considered or heard before that made me think more about Pacat's original text! I also really loved the extra dialogue and small scenes that were added; especially the love scenes, they were so tender and lovely...and sometimes freaky 🤪
