Zuko’s smile creaks. “For me,” he echoes, and Izumi must see something in his face because she falters.
He takes a slow bite, swallows against the lump in his throat. He slips a hands into his sleeve and worries the knob of his wrist like a prayer bead.
Izumi beams.

Overall, his income is decent, his hobbies are nonexistent, and his life is…fine. Not good, but tolerable.

Unless you want me to get hard, you sadist.” Zuko's brain malfunctioned as Sokka spoke with a smirk that made him want to tear those lips from his face and feed them to the sharks in the ocean. He hadn't even realized his right leg was stretched out and pressing into the water-tribe boy's crotch. He stepped back faster than he ever had before, his eyes wide like Sokka just murdered his whole bloodline. The younger boy didn't back down, instead faking a sound of disappointment. “Don't start something you can't finish.”

Asozu never quite liked being a princess. The way the dresses dragged, the compliments that sounded like they grated on her ears, the Coos from her mother on how she looked just like her when she was younger. It made Asozu feel vaguely sick every time. But Asozu wasn't a traitor. She could never be, and all of her thoughts were treasonous. Better to ignore them. For as long as she can bear it.

All Zuko wanted to do was capture the Avatar and return home to regain his title as crown prince of the Fire Kingdom. It didn’t matter that he never really felt like he belonged in the palace or that he never truly felt like a “he” at all; capturing the avatar was his destiny, or was it? After helping the Avatar and gang save the moon spirit, Zuko is given a gift and a new body by the spirits. He is also told by Agni himself to join the avatar. Not willing to deny the spirit, Zuko sets out with the Avatar to help restore balance to the world.
