Sadness that he’d be losing Dean, and regret that he hadn’t worked harder to make sure the boy knew he wasn’t expendable the way he clearly thought he was.
“Dean, why don’t you come with me to check it out. Tired of being cooped up in here, and besides Rufus says there’s a real good breakfast joint out near there.”

In the end it was hard for them to say who truly created who; Bruce was the one who gave the spirit of Gotham it's form but wasn't he in his own way shaped in turn by the spirit of Gotham itself to be the one to summon it. Either way the feelings Bruce had towards the quasi-real being composed of shadow and vengeance were the same said being held towards the frail fleshy human. They have fallen in love as easily as Batman fell off a building and Bruce has long since lost his awe for the creature he summoned into being...Or at least he has mostly.
