Marielle Grey grew up in Slugterra. As the only daughter of Hannah Grey, famed slugslinger and protector Will Shane's second-in-command, Mari has quite the legacy to live up to. But, after Will Shane disappears while fighting the nefarious Dr. Blakk when Mari is thirteen, and her mother retires early, the world she had known her entire life is forever changed.
Five years later, Will's son Eli shows up in the 99 Caverns, picking up where his dad left off and vowing to defeat Dr. Blakk--whatever it takes. But, with Blakk corrupting the energy of Slugterra's native mollusks and turning them into terrifying and warped Ghouls, Mari knows that Eli, whom she had communicated with and gotten to know through letters delivered by Will Shane before the latter had disappeared, may just be the only one who can save her world.

It's been a year since the events of Tad, and the Shane Gang's grown quite a bit, though most of them are still the same. This world was finally at peace, until the gang starts noticing something off about two of Blakk's former employees. Something soon threatens the peace they've built over the year, and they'll have to face a returning darkness, perhaps with the help of both new and old allies.
⚠️TW: There's gonna be a chapter with gorey scenes, and in some later chapters as well, there's also going to be a chapter with something sensitive, so view with discretion.
Also, I'm so sorry I'm bad at summaries ; v ; I'm also trying my best to use ao3. I got into Slugterra again and rewatched it, the show's an underrated gem. This is like another season after the events of Tad (a.k.a the Into the Shadows movie), each chapter will be like an episode of a season, like the series.
