“Okay Amos,” Clayton whispered, “you’re fine. You’re in a fucking cave, and there’s a fucking bear that wants you to pet him. But this is fine, everything is fine. ” He choked out a hysterical laugh, thunking his head back against the cave wall.
Amos, Matthew thought. Fuck, I forgot.
This is who he was, then. A skinny, bruised boy who swore just as much as Clayton did. Matthew looked at him, and felt his heart break.

A witch trapping them in a cave, laying a curse on Clayton, and turning him into a goddamn teenager would’ve been bad enough. But to make matters worse, there’s a new monster in Deadwood, one that threatens the entire town. The Deadwood Five, with fifteen year old Amos Kinsley in tow, race to put together clues before another tragedy can occur, all while searching for ways to undo the curse and bring Clayton back to them.

Matthew sat on the edge of the bed and pulled up the baby monitor video feed on his phone, smiling down at Charlie where she lay in her crib. She was so cute when she was sleeping - six months old, all soft brown skin and curly black hair and adorably pudgy baby rolls. Especially when she lay curled up around her doll like that.
Wait. Matthew frowned. She doesn’t have a lifelike doll…
But there, on the screen, was another baby’s face. Its head was positioned just beside Charlie’s, staring up at the monitor. The more he looked, the more eerie it became. He could just make out a mouth and eyes, pitch black, mouth open in a cry. Matthew’s heart picked up speed. His palms grew sweaty, fear building fast and furious.
“Oh my god.”
Charlie was cuddling a goddamn ghost baby.
With one husband asleep, the other working overnight, and a ghost baby haunting their baby girl's bedroom, Matthew must try and face it alone. Try being the operative word.

He waits until Matthew gets a little closer and then steps up to meet him at the doorway, reaching up to curl a hand around the back of his neck and pull him down into a kiss.
Matthew meets him a little clumsily at first, clearly not expecting to be kissed first thing, but his hands are warm when they land on Aly’s hips and his cheeks are flushed when Aly pulls away. He’s beautiful, and Aly has to kiss him again just for that.
“Well, good morning to you too, then,” and he leans in to give Aly another kiss, “maybe no coal after all. What was that for?”
