Summary
While at summer camp, Taylor meets a fellow Brocktonite- Sana 'Sunny' Campbell, a open lesbian whose cheery nature and naivety hides the pain of losing a parent. Sharing their pain with one another, the two become friends, and return to Brockton Bay together.
However, their homecoming isn't a pleasant one, and the two are attacked by Empire Eighty-Eight thugs looking for recognition within the gang. Fighting to survive, Sunny triggers with a power she doesn't entirely understand.
Now, A little over a year later, with a song in her head and a cassette player in hand, Sunny strikes out into the world of capes, determined to become a hero and change the bay. Whatever happens, it won't be the same old story...

Now stuck in the late 2000s, the Solver of the Absolute Fabric has to start from scratch and-wait, why are there superheroes around...oh, this is Earth Bet? Well then this will be interesting.

However, a third Entity attacked their Cycle, viewing the system as an aberration. Before being driven off, the one who would come to be known as Abaddon copied their data in the form of a bud. Unfortunately, the principles behind such protocols escaped him, and it was later traded to another known as the Thinker.
During a certain accident, the Shard [Queen Administrator] absorbed the data, fascinated by what she found. The potential of such a device was amazing.
Now all she needed was a host with attitude!

That's when things started to go absolutely fucking horribly.

Cycles pass as they tend to do, and the day of the Locker occurred. Instead of Bug Control, the Shard decided to remove the threat of infection by changing Taylor Hebert into a theoretical variation that it's research determined was possible. Specifically a hybrid model. Thus, Taylor becomes a Parahuman with a physical alteration that prevents her from hiding her nature. Specifically, the chunk of carbon in her stomach.

And... it might not be hero calliber at first. But then again, Dauntless must have been the same, and now he was, well, Dauntless.
So one day, she would be a hero, she would rescue anyone in need and stand unbroken no matter the blow.
You know. Once she was done making a LOT of soup.
