It is not him who wields it, but his father. It happens in the throne room before a small audience. The head rolls a few steps before it stops at Uther’s feet; the blank eyes staring into the depths of Arthur’s soul. There is no faint look of surprise or horror on the dead face. Nothing to suggest that this was something the Last Dragonlord hadn’t expected. It is sickening. Arthur can still hear the sound of metal against flesh and bone, not once, not twice, but thrice. Beheading someone takes a lot more physical power than one is led to believe.
