FIC REWRITE
Whilst on a mission to destroy a wraith nursery, John and Todd are attacked and stranded on a planet without a working stargate. Fortunately, a Hive in Todd's alliance picks up Todd's distress signal and comes to get them. Unfortunately. These wraith are as unfriendly and untrusting as all the rest - and Todd has a secret they cannot find out. Turns out, working with the Lanteans is not only strange but punishable by death. If the pair can't lie their way through their time aboard, they won't ever get home. John has no choice but to trust his dubious companion, and vice versa.
Easier said than done, but even imprisoned and heading toward certain death, Todd has a few tricks up his sleeve. They make a break for it and fall face-first into a journey that will fling them across the galaxy, further and further from safety and from what they both knew. Desperate to get back to their respective lives, John and Todd must embark on a long and dangerous quest with no hope for survival except each other.
Set in season five after "Search and Rescue" and before "The Queen"

Bloodhound gave him a breathy chuckle. “You’re too kind, mitt Walter.”
“Yours, ay?’ the grenadier boasted, grinning at the blush spreading across the other’s cheeks.
Pleased that Walter caught onto the use of their native language, the tracker found a sudden urge of confidence and leaned forward to press their forehead against his which caused their lips to brush slightly. “If we are now together as you would say, you will know that I am very possessive of things that are mine.”
“I think I can get behind that,” Walter whispered against their lips, his eye lidded as he watched them closely. “You’re bloody stuck with me.”

So, they planned, studied & struggled, trained in secret, and plotted to leave in one way or another. They collected the books they found most helpful and scavenged materials they needed, for they were not born of wealth. This lasted for years…
There will be flashbacks to explain how the original character ended up in the Pegasus Galaxy.

He tilted his head, studying her through the glass, his expression a mix of amusement and disdain as he took in her restraints, the raw skin at her wrists, the blood-streaked mist coating her. “Crude,” he muttered, his tone dripping with disdain. “The Genii lack imagination.”
“Tell me… about it,” Raven rasped, her head lolling to one side.

SG-1 has a plan to block more Ori vessels from invading the Milky Way galaxy. While one half of the team goes off to put that plan into action, John goes along with the other half to visit Atlantis.
Unpleasant surprises await them when they step into the Ancient City, and things take infinitely worse turns before they start getting remotely better.
