Amazing world-building, it really helps Tower of God’s lore prior to canon feel more fleshed out - especially the Princesss system, it’s origins, the Princesses themselves, and notable events like Enyru’s Floor of Death stunt, Phantaminum & Urek. Jahad & “Bam’s” (really, Viole. But Jahad certainty doesn’t recognize THAT name) co-dependent relationship is akin to watching a train-wreck. You know it’s going to be bad, but you just can’t look away due to morbid fascination.
The dialogue never feels stale as it would in other dialogue-heavy long fics, due to the authors careful diligence in making characterization consistent, interesting & investing your interest in their reactions. A fantastic AU that breaks away from the canon events and slowly changes everything with little bends in events that eventually will lead to a point where it goes off the rails.
Alright, enough gushing about the main fic & looking at the side stuff. The work that focuses on Bam’s relationship with his mentors who were some of the Ten Family Heads is really damn interesting. Especially given its in some cases Bam’s first time interacting with people outside of Jahad. Hon is fascinating in this with how much ambiguity he exudes but there is enough clarity there you can get some scraps of what he’s thinking but never enough to satiate your questions.
The Horn-centric work is stunning. Like. It basically turns this Princess we know nothing about in Canon & makes her the star of the show even more then she is in the main fic. Seeing how Horn internally regards things about the world around her - and Bam - while she has the full context to understand really makes this have a tangible atmosphere of wariness/anger that haunts Horn like a pungent miasma.

However, Bam and his friends quickly discover that conflict is much more inevitable than what they would expect, as the Jahad Empire and FUG continue to wage war with one another from the shadows, culminating in Bam finding himself in the crossfire of the battle that would mark the beginning of the war.

When faced with not only the Head of the Lo Po Bia Family, but also the King of the Tower, Bam could do nothing but accept the offer to become the Prince of Jahad. Jahad also promises a new future where his friends would be safe, but how would that happen?

If the Princesses are the King's shoes in the display case, the Prince is the jewel locked away in the vault. An AU where Jahad sees too much of Arlene in her infant son and despises her immortal lover too much to simply kill the child. The child would be his possession. This does not make for good parenting.
Watch how Bam grows up in the King's 'protection' and ends up impacting those around him. And eventually, one day, watch him gain the courage - and will - to see the outside he'd been deprived of.
