Lloyd's words were caught on his throat. There was no way, there was no way that the Zane that he knew, insides and out, the same Zane that had been making him cookies on his birthday for years, the same Zane that had promised to never, ever, hurt him or anyone else, The same Zane that had thrown himself into dangerous situations time and time again to prevent others from being hurt--
there was no way that it was the same Zane who was currently holding Kai hostage, repeating the phrase of their enemy, one flick of a wrist away from killing their brother.
OR,
me rewriting s11 where zane doesn't loose all of his memories, he remembers being banished to the never realm via a fire elemental master. and lets just say that he isn't happy when Kai and the other ninja show up. but he can't help but feel like they remind him of his old family, the one he just barely remembers.

“I can’t feel the floor,” Cole said, pressing against it for a moment. “I can’t feel the wind,” Cole said again, raising his hand up into the air. “I can’t feel my hair.” Cole said, running his hand through his hair. He turned to Zane.
“I can’t even feel your hand-!” Cole said, reaching towards Zane and placing his hand on top of Zanes.
Cole froze for a second as their hands made contact. Cole felt Zane’s hand.
Instantly, the two of them pulled away from each other.
“What..” Cole breathed out suddenly. Eyebrows furrowing.
Cole looked up at Zane, who seemed to be terrified.
Zane straightened. “Cole, I-” Zane steadied his breath, but his hands were still shaking. “I need to tell you something.” He said slowly.
OR
zanes a ghost possessing his titanium body, him and cole talk about it. (oh and also they kiss)

"kai-kai wake up please." lloyd sobbed softly.
"wh-what? what's wrong lloyd?" kai asked softly. all of the other ninja usually went to bed earlier while zane stayed awake and read Lloyd a bedtime story. zane could run on less sleep, and he always loved reading, so it worked out well. he would stay with lloyd until he was sure he was asleep, so lloyd coming in the others rooms was very uncommon.
"zane, it's zane!" lloyd cried, "he thought i fell asleep and he told me-you have to go after him!" lloyd said, kai could barely make out what he was saying, but sat up anyway. lloyd seemed really stressed.
"what'd zane say?" kai asked softly, rubbing his eyes.
"he said he was going to jump into the river!" lloyd sobbed. "i didn't know what to do so i pretended to be asleep till he left! he told me that he was sorry, y-you need to go after him!"now that woke kai up.
or
zane tries to kill himself and tells lloyd thinking that he's asleep. he isn't.
