Summary
Do you remember?
There was a pause. “Remember what?”
Any of it. All of it.
Everything we’ve
Stanley stiffened, then hit backspace a few times.
Everything I’ve done.
~•-•*•-•🚪•-•*•-•🚪•-•*•-•~
Stanley’s life is simple. Every day, he walks a path he’s walked before, towards the same end it always leads to, and nothing ever changes.
Until one day he learns something the Narrator doesn’t want him to know. Something that will change both of their worlds forever. Something that will set him on a hunt for something he never knew he needed to look for, and confront him with a truth he’d never thought was true:
His choices do matter. And some of them can only be made once.

Summary
"And here it is. Go ahead and give it a shot."
Stanley's throat felt dry, despite the man never having talked in his entire life. This was too familiar, he knew he had experienced this before, and he hated it.He didn't listen to the Narrator's excessive rambles to annoy him into pushing the button, and instead sat down, tears forming.
"Here, we'll just pretend that I've just begun an interminable monolog-- Stanley?" The disembodied voice had softened, and Stanley found himself focusing on it.
OR, The author hates this ending- because of how terrifying/ sad it is- and rewrites it to be more nicer.

Summary
Stanley has been in the Parable for a very, very long time. Decades, maybe. Or even centuries. He’s long since lost track.
Throughout all his time here, Stanley has learned that there are rules to his existence. He can’t eat. He can’t sleep. And he can’t get sick.
But one day, he finds himself feeling off. Feeling ill.
The rules have stopped applying to him. And this is not supposed to happen.

Summary
“Is it over?” the voice said quietly, like it was talking to itself. “It’s going to restart, isn’t it? I’m going ba—”
He woke up standing in front of his computer. The cursor flashed, awaiting orders. Like always.
Stanley looked up at the ceiling on reflex. What did the Narrator mean by “going back”?

Summary
Stanley goes through the zending many times in a row just to hear the Narrator care about him getting hurt for once, but there's only so long he could spend with his eyes closed, pretending that any of it mattered.
He ended up with a mental breakdown over it.
Narrator decided to finally show himself in a physical form just so he could physically drag Stanley away from those damned stairs, as talking clearly didn't work.
They talk it through afterwards.(Can be read as either romantic or platonic - might have a romantic sequel in the future)

Summary
"My existence is pointless. I might as well- I might as well not speak at all.”
Stanley hadn't realized before how devoid of life the Parable building is. There are no bugs. No buzzing sounds from the lights. No outside view from the windows. No steady drip of water from the sinks. Dust doesn't gather. Any papers that are spread around the offices are blurred. Hell, even the plants aren't real.
Or
The Narrator isolates himself from the world. Stanley does his best to go on with life, but he can't quite make it on his own.

Summary
He felt, well, cold. Yes, in the temperature sense, but also in a different way. His hands were the least of his worries when it felt like the chill was coming from inside him. This hollow, cavernous feeling that sat like an overfilled balloon in his chest. But his chest wasn’t quite the right place, it was somewhere far more unreachable between his diaphragm and his ribs, lost in the space between his heart and his spine. It was as if the smallest shard of ice had made its home in this vulnerable and unknowable place. But, there was no time to linger on such a small little space - and he was certain The Narrator would only tolerate his lack of story progression for so long, so Stanley continued out of his office.
or
Stanley is really lonely and The Narrator wants to fix that.

Lovebug AU by @things1do on tumblr (https://www.tumblr.com/things1do)
<3Ɛ><3Ɛ><3Ɛ><3Ɛ><3Ɛ>
He did notice something different within himself. He might deliver a line of dialogue with a happier tone, or maybe he would be slightly more bothered than usual when Stanley took the door on the right. Something was definitely off, but the Narrator would rather eat his metaphorical tie than admit anything to Stanley.

Summary
While relaxing in the Zen room, Stanley has a bit of a realization.
He and the Narrator have never actually introduced themselves to one another before, despite all the time they’ve been in the Parable together. When he points this out, more questions come to his mind, and it leaves him questioning how much he honestly knows about his place in the Parable, and who the Narrator even is.
After all, if they’ve never introduced themselves, do they even really know each other?
———
stanley has an existential crisis/epiphany and for once he’s the one explaining what their story means. general warnings for existential thoughts and concepts, and for the reality of the characters in the story.
can be read as romantic or platonic, all of us know what these two bitches have isn’t normal

Summary
Stanley freezes. The Narrator does too. For a moment no one lifts a finger or says anything.
Stanley reaches out his hand slowly and then the voice comes back to life.
“Stanley, I think we ought to get on with the Story, yes? Whatever point you were trying to make, I think you've maahhhhh-”A delighted smile spreads across Stanley's face and he repeats the action, his hand gliding over the Office's wallpaper as it elicits another breathy gasp from the speakers.

Summary
After the Skip Button ending, the Narrator is reset with fragmented memories, a memory wipe in-progress, and a terror of being alone. He makes the excellent life decision to repress as much as possible and get on with business as usual, with the concession of seeing Stanley in-person.
--
“The Story,” says the Narrator, although he’s still not letting go. “We must get back to it.” His arms don’t seem to be moving.
“Yeah, no,” says Stanley, drawing away a little in his embrace, regarding him critically at the length of his arm.
