The king needed to do something, and perhaps the tribe of Barbarians his people had encountered by accident would help. They had dragons, and you know what they said. Dragons were magic.

Summary
Hiccup never thought after Grimmel's death he'd have to keep an eye on events beyond his own island anymore. A previously unknown tribe comes to change that for him when they make a nationalist their Chieftan who desires to bring back the viking lifestyle of seven generations, expansion via aggression, and a ruthless goal to eradicate what he calls the 'unvikings'.
It was the last thing Hiccup had ever expected to face, ten years after the dragons had left for The Hidden World. With the rise of an authoritarian, dictatorial tribe and nationalist Chieftan at the doorstep of New Berk, and ultimately within the Barbaric Archipelago, there'll be tough questions for Hiccup to face. Appeasement for the sake of avoiding the same sort of conflicts he faced against Drago Bludvist and Grimmel for the sake of the well being of his tribe and kids, or taking a stand against aggression, an aggression that demonstrates interest in gradually absorbing sovereign tribes?

Now with their new team of dragon riders, they've protected Huttsgalor for almost 2 years now. But their past will soon come up to them in the most unlikely way.
This is my own Alternate Universe and there's different things to it. I'll explain it further. I love Rescue Riders and the few Works that I've seen fail to remember that Dak and Leyla can talk to the dragons and it could be a key part to their stories so I'm going to fix that.

Summary
Primerose, a young woman who had always dreamed of becoming a dragon rider like the heroes in her favorite stories, finally got the chance to make her dream come true. Wearing a mystic collar, she visited the beach and made a wish to the sea. To her surprise, the waves surged over her, carrying her into another world.
But instead of the thrilling Berk she had imagined—where dragons and Vikings lived in harmony—Primerose discovered a bleak reality. The new Berk was a scene of bloodshed and destruction. As she searched among the corpses for survivors, she found Zephyr, the daughter of Hiccup and Astrid, caught between life and death. After nursing her back to health, Primerose learned what had happened: the dragon king was dead, dragons were now controlled by a guild of dragon hunters, and the last surviving Berkians had been enslaved.
Moved by their story, Primerose resolved to help Zephyr free her people and the dragons from this new threat.

Hiccup scans the sky, but can’t see anything blotting out the stars or even obscuring the view. He doesn’t know what he was expecting, honestly. Toothless? He hasn’t seen Toothless since…since the time he and Astrid brought the kids to visit almost ten years ago.
Still, his shoulders deflate. He misses his old friend. He knows he can’t go to the Hidden World — every trip poses a risk of someone following and invading the dragon safe haven. He turns back to Zephyr. “Sorry, Zeph, I thought—AHH!”
Something sharp digs into his shoulders and with the force of a thousand suns he’s ripped from the ground with a deathly scream.
Astrid can’t find the words. She doesn’t know what to even say. She can barely wrap her head around what just happened.
Hiccup’s gone. Zephyr is gone. Taken by a dragon in the middle of the night.
Her brain starts whirring before she even knows it. Even after dark, without the helpful assistance of the sun to guide, she knows that route, knows that direction, even if she hasn’t traveled that way in years. She needs to get them back — and no one can know.
