Summary
Somewhere in 2017, Sonic Forces was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move. And then, one Thursday, nearly five years after one man had been nailed to a tree for saying how great it would be to be nice to people for a change, a hedgehog resting against a tree somewhere on Mobius suddenly realized what it was that had been going wrong with the series all this time, and he finally knew how the world could be made a good and happy place. This time it was right, it would work, and no one would have to get nailed to anything.
Sadly, however, before he could reach his friends to tell anyone about it, a terrible, stupid catastrophe occurred, and the idea was lost forever.

Summary
Infinite survived his battle with Sonic, and its set on revenge. He recruits the Deadly Six for his plans.He overthrows Eggman, and banishes Metal Sonic to another dimension. He defeats Sonic and uses the Emeralds to trap him in Blaze’s dimension.
With the help of Blaze, Sonic must find a way back home to defeat Metal Sonic. As well as deal with the growing feelings he has towards the purple cat, who is also having feelings for him.
Meanwhile, Knuckles must gather the resistance again, with some old faces, and protect his world from the villains, along side Eggman to his happiness.
The heroes must race against time as Infinite gets his plan moving to destroy the world.

Eggman may have left the Lost Hex but everything he brought with him was left behind, including a whole slew of aggressive Badniks. As the Deadly Six are left to deal with these remaining threats, Zavok and Zazz are unexpectedly sent tumbling down a ravine and have to find their way back home, all the while tending to their wounds, exploring Eggman's network of secret bases and fighting off bigger and badder robots.
