Trahearne is at peace within the Dream. And not just peace, but joy.
After the events of End of Dragons, the death of Soo-Won, and Aurene going into her own milleniall slumber (?), the Commander returns to Orr.
This a sort of... soliloquy on death (?) and the afterlife (?) and... peace, and rest, light, and life.
I wrote this lil oneshot on the spur of the moment. I listened to Fear Not This Night and then another song of Jeremy Soule's from a different game, probably, came on and VIBED, MAN. So here!
I got mega Tolkien/hobbit vibes from the second song, so I did a lil thing. Not my usual style, but hey it was fun trying to capture a Tolkien-esque hobbitlike setting in a Tyrian world.

Summary
This one follows right after the last, sort of; the previous scene describes an event that happened quite frequently during Trahearne's time in Orr, so this could follow any one of them. Like that one, this scene probably also repeated a couple of times. These are simply snapshots of common moments in his life, in a sort of impressionist attempt to paint a detailed picture in broad strokes.
Also I just . I've been wanting to flesh out what Trahearne's life prior to the Pact may have looked like in terms of the despair and hopelessness and, like, how he changed from that. I've been feeling a stronger kinship with him lately in the face of long-term executive dysfunction/burnout/depression/whatever. (side-eyes the active project I abandoned a year and a half ago...) There's a kind of helplessness in it, you know? Of watching all my goals and hopes and dreams seemingly fade out of the realm of possibility while I need help with basic daily tasks. And I would never have grown in the ways I have without that being the backdrop of my life. And so I figure Trahearne is pretty similar.
