Summary
It's cold and you don't know what to do. It's cold and your roommate just kicked you out. It's cold and you're wet and upset and confused. It's the middle of winter and you go to your boyfriends because you don't know where else to go... but something isn't right and you regret what you said to Karkat.
or
The one where Sollux and Karkat get in an argument over what a relationship is supposed to be and Sollux says something he regrets when Karkat kicks him out. When Sollux goes to Eridan's to figure some things out, Karkat comes after him and a happy ending ensues. [Better than it sounds]

Summary
John Egbert just wanted to buy some apple juice.
Instead he found a couple of trolls in a box.
If only he knew that keeping the trolls would change things for him.
Mostly because they keep making a mess of the house, goddammit Karkat stop hitting Sollux.
But there's emotional things too.

Sollux decides that Karkat needs a friend, so he builds a set of devices so that Karkat can always get ahold of him instantly.

Summary
Karkat and Sollux had been friends for as long as they could remember, since two sweeps according to Sollux. Karkat even helped Sollux when he was getting use to his psiionics. And now, six sweeps later, they had become closer…friendlier…. Karkat eventually worked up the courage to ask Sollux if he'd be his matesprit. Sollux, of course, agreed and they stayed together in Sollux's hive, living a more platonic life style than a romantic one.
That was until Karkat's eyes started changing from gray to red and he began going into heat.

Summary
It was late November, just on the border of late fall and early winter. Today had been a particularly warm day (for the season at least) and today happened to be a special day. If by special, one meant that today was just a day where someone who usually didn't have plans had plans. In this case, two completely social awkward nerds who only ever had plans with each other, had plans with each other again today. Although, for Karkat, that didn't dampen the sentiment. Especially because today was special.

In which Sollux strikes Karkat because "oh fuck the looney bin didn't give him enough meds for this month." (Tw, this is literally about Sollux having a bi polar episode and verbally/physically abusing Karkat.)

(discontinued.)
Your name is John Egbert. You hate your job.
You sit here all day, making coffee, dealing with cranky old people, and for what? Minimum wage? It gets you what you need and pays rent but you wish there was more to it.
Then every day after work, Dirk Strider - your best friend's brother - comes in to order his coffee and you feel almost protected in his company. You know legally you'd have to keep him from coming back if he beat someone up in the store there's a small part of you that knows he will if he needs to.
You start to think this shitty job is a bit more worth it to see him. Even Dave barely visits you at work, because he has a girlfriend and a job. And who visits their friend at work? You can see him outside of work whenever. But Dirk, it's different. It's always nice seeing him.
Because he's your friend. Dirk is a great friend and you care about him. You just like spending time with him.
Is it normal to somewhat want to make out with your friend?

Then, there is the beautiful paradox: fanfiction is wildly personal and individual, but it is also a form of connective and empathetic tissue between people. It is, at times, grossly sexual and then desperately tender, trite and cliché then fresh and new.

You're a late bloomer at nine sweeps, and you don't yet have a concupiscent quadrant filled. This leaves you alone and self-pailing for the duration of your mating cycle—at least, that was the idea. When Karkat bursts in on you, it sort of throws off your plans for the week.
