The only thing worse than crawling out of your own grave to find your father had replaced you with the first black haired, blue eyed preteen he could find, is said replacement begging you to sign emergency foster papers... except maybe you signing said papers and having to learn how to be a parent on the fly... Tim had heard rumors of someone selling a tire from the batmobile, THE BATMOBILE, around Crime Alley. He had to check it out, obviously. He already had a few items he'd been collecting from following Batman and Robin in patrol, but having a real tire from the real Batmobile would certainly take his collection to the next level. He needed to check if it was real.

Tim was never meant to be Robin. He knew that- he was just a stand-in, someone to be used until Batman was better or another Robin came along- he wasn't family. So, he hid his identity from everyone. No one knew who the third Robin was, not even Batman. Why is it, then, that the Waynes so interested in Timothy Drake? And why now, of all times?
OR: The Batfamily have been trying to lure Agent C back into the family ever since he ran away. It's a slow-going process. In the meantime, Damian has latched onto Timothy Drake, and is teaming up with Dick to try and adopt him. Whether he wants to be adopted or not.

He does not, as much as Colin would have anyone believe, 'know things he shouldn’t', nor does he 'stare too much' or 'ask questions no one can refuse'. Quite frankly, Colin is the unstable co-worker here, and Jon would appreciate it if everyone else agreed with him.
