Summary
Harry Potter is a dragon. He's been a dragon for several years, and frankly he's quite used to the idea - after all, in his experience nobody ever comments about it, so presumably it's just what happens sometimes.
Magic, though, THAT is something entirely new.Comedy fic, leading on from the consequences of one... admittedly quite large... change.
This largely follows canon in many respects, but a lot of the more dangerous events aren't as dangerous as they are in canon. Instead Harry has a comparatively normal seven years at Hogwarts, getting a mostly-uninterrupted magical education, which if you think about it is quite an impressive feat for an intelligent dragon.
This fic features a broadly dotty but pleasant Dumbledore, Dean Thomas elevated to a coequal status of main character with Ron, Hermione and Neville, House Rivalries treated as a school in-joke, and a cast of many people who are not human.
It also features Dumbledore teaching classes, though only once he remembers to tell people about the class.

Daenerys comes back to life in Asshai but she is not the old Daenerys. She is driven by vengeance and in search of her old enemies.
Two family members make different decisions in two different families. In the True North, Jon Snow defends his adopted people against Ironborn attacks and finds betrayal.
The Eight Kingdoms fall into war over the Crownlands and disputed borders. Jon Snow, now Aemon Targaryen, embraces both sides of his heritage and discovers new family members. House Stark and House Targaryen or the North grow bigger but Westeros faces great from Daenerys's forces advancing through Essos.
The Dornish, with their intact army, attack the Reach. The Red Priests under Kinvara lead the attack. There is a HEA but at the cost of much destruction in the South.

Old title:"The Sorcerer King"
Arthur Dayne lives as does Ashara. They kidnap newborn Jon from his dying mother. But Lyanna lives.
Rhaella lives but Stannis is brutally murdered during an apparent surrender at Dragonstone. The Targaryens are divided, with Arthur and Ashara raising Jon/Aemon in secret, and Lucerys Velaryon raising Viserys.
This is no happy ending. Ned Stark's efforts to bring back his nephew result in tragedy. Lyanna is not allowed to leave Winterfell or the North. Robert raises a standing army, and fathers a second family with Delena Florent. Jaime Lannister leaves the Kingsguard but fathers three bastards with his sister.
So with canon follow in Ned Stark being imprisoned by Cersei and killed by Joffrey? Will Joffrey be a good king or a bad king? What about Viserys, raised by Lucerys Velaryon who facilitated Aerys' cruelties? Is FAegon out there?
This is a crueller version of GoT. Secret heirs born of secret marriages by betrothed or married men who were not free to contract those marriages. Westerosi raised heirs versus "true" heirs. So much closer to what went down in medieval Castile and Portugal, and 15th century England. The rightful heir are not necessarily nice men, not do the good ones win.
