Personally I LOVED the finale/epilogue and I loved seeing them allow Will to explore himself and Mike to actively be depressed instead of just there. So this is primarily about their characters, and is mainly a look into how I imagine Mike's mental health

“Who is ‘everyone else’ ?” He asks.
“You know, Lucas and Max and Dustin. Oh, and Will too!”

Summary
The concept of what would happen after defeating Vecna hadn’t ever materialized in Will Byers’ head. And, now that he was living it, he kind of wished he’d been more prepared. Trying to hide his nightmares, the level of stoned he was, and his very, very new relationship with Mike Wheeler was nothing short of impossible with the wave of Religious Paranoia infecting Hawkins post-Upside-Down.
But who was he to complain? It could always be worse.

Buck freezes.
He turns, and there’s Diaz—Dr. Arrogant Himself—striding toward them in dark blue scrubs, exuding confidence like he owns the place.
“Why are you here?” Buck blurts out before he can stop himself.
Diaz doesn’t even glance at him. “Where’s the patient?” he repeats, addressing Bobby instead.
Sure, Eddie Diaz is a surgeon. Fine. But this is their domain—firefighters saving lives in impossible situations—and Buck can’t shake the feeling that Diaz doesn’t trust them to handle it. The arrogance practically radiates off him, rubbing Buck raw with every calm, clipped instruction.

“What are you doing here?” Buck asked, “I thought you were going to station six?”
Eddie had that shit eating grin he got whenever he was being a cheeky bastard, “Last minute change of plans.” He gave a faux nonchalant shrug.
Suddenly Buck’s face fell into a suspicious glare, “You’re not fucking with me, are you? Rocking up to tease me with those abs of yours and then fucking off to your actual station?”
Eddie’s smile turned fond, enough confirmation that this was for real, “No, I’m here for good.”
“Good, I’ll introduce you then.” Eddie followed Buck as he led him back to the small group, “Everyone this is Eddie Diaz, Eddie this is Hen, Bobby and Chimney.”
“I didn’t realise you two knew each other.” Bobby said, analysing the two of them.
Eddie and Buck began to laugh in unison, “Know each other?” Buck said, speaking through the laugh.
“We share a mortgage.” Eddie finished for him.

He knew only two people were missing, so he welcomed them without hesitation.

Come on in—there's pizza!"Whatever Eddie had imagined Maddie’s brother would be like... this wasn’t it. Standing in front of him was the most beautiful man he’d ever seen. Tall, with chestnut hair that made him want to run his fingers through those curls—or grab them—and piercing blue eyes that made something warm bloom in his chest. And that smile, framed by dimples on each cheek... yeah. Dead.
The only thought that crossed Eddie’s mind was that he should probably say something. Anything. Moving might be good, too. Step forward into the loft? Shake his hand? Mention Christopher?
Talking about Christopher always came easily, and it seemed like the safest choice. But nothing came. Nada.

The fire kills Marcy, Bobby Jr. and Brooke Bobby doesn't get clean for the rest of Buck's childhood when Buck is seen at an illegal fight ring by an undercover SEAL three days away from his fifteenth birthday.

Buck and Bobby gets into a fight when Buck visits for the first time in a year at 22 get into a fight Bobby who finally gets how much he has hurt Buck as Buck storms out with one of his military buddy's and doesn't see his son for four years.
Can they fix their relationship...can Bobby re earn the trust of his only living child? Or has he lost his son to the SEAL 'family'.
