Summary

He smiles like a flag still standing erect on the battlefield, like a flower still upright after the storm, like a rock steadfast against a feral sea, a symbol of how he has gotten through one hundred percent of his worst moments and certainly isn’t stopping here.
And words could never be enough to ease the demons. Lan Zhan could never join the right sentences together that could make him make peace with the world. There is nothing he could ever verbalize that would ever make the defamation, the loss of loved ones, the carnage of mind and soul—nothing he could say could ever make any of it worth it.
No, speaking of it would never work. But actions have always spoken louder than words.”
