Summary
Tim has had many disguises in his lifetime, has had identities switched like clockwork. First from socialite darling Timothy Drake to Tim and back, later Robin and Tim which he has to carefully separate.
Other identities accumulate, Carolina, Alvin, Jessica, Tommy. He has forgotten about half of them. They all have a life, goals and hobbies, a look and a feel and a smell. They do not interchange. Tim is not Tim when he is Jones or Michelle or Charlie. That’s what he tells himself at least. It is required for the mission.

“What is your price…” Batman grits out, looking pained, “In return for the pelt?”
Jason’s eyes narrow, fury coiled low in his gut like a pit of vipers waiting to strike. “What piece you talkin’ about, old man? My pretty jacket, or the fur rug?”
“All of it,” Batman snaps, true fury making his voice pitch more towards Bruce than Batman.
“Greedy,” Jason remarks idly, “Don’t anybody teach you that sharing is caring?”

Tim messed up, now he needs to fix it. He hurt his parents’ chances with one business partner, now he needs to help his parents with a different business partner. The fact that he gets hurt in the process has never been an issue. Then the “different business partner” turns out to be the Red Hood, AKA, the reason Tim hasn’t been allowed out as Robin for a month. That might be an issue.

Especially not when the bats get involved with their trashy next door neighbor whose behavior seems more and more contradictory.
Tim had saved them all more times than he could count, maybe this time they could return the favor.

Red Hood wanted it to hurt, a whispering glee glowing a toxic shade of green behind his eyes.
Jason Todd wanted to know why Timothy Drake's bedroom, on the west side of a well maintained mansion in Bristol, the safest place in Gotham, was having bars installed.
Or
Jason Todd had had the perfect plan. Every detail had been accounted for, down to the last damn second. Batman would get his comeuppance, in the form of a broken Robin.
Timothy Drake, however, was so fucking pitiful, coupled with Bruce Wayne being so damn dense, that it blew his plans out of the window before he could even enact the first goddamn step.

There is a stone statue that watches over Gotham Cemetery, and comes alive every once in a while - stone changing into flesh, a creature masquerading as a human little boy, crawling around the place as if patrolling the aisles of gravestones.
(His name is Tim Drake and his purpose - as far as he’s concerned - is to eat away the sin and the poison from the dead that come under his care, to aid (the best he can) their ascent to the Afterlife.)

In this universe - Robin is gifted through trust and love - like any heirloom is given.or: Bruce brings Jason home and does NOT immediately stick him into the role of Robin. Jason ends up with the title anyways - and Dick Grayson ends up as "mom".
