Fledglings should be cradled close and held away from the world, safe from the humans and other monsters who would dare to harm them. But precisely because he was accustomed to danger, when Percy woke up, lying on the hard wood of a tree root—remembering well having slept in the comfortable bed of Cabin 3—he didn't scream, no matter how much he wanted to. Silently, he cursed every god he could think of in a three-second burst.

Achilles and Patroclus start to find that they care a lot for the wellbeing of Percy, yes, he is a new addition to their crew, he is also secretive and cagey on aspects of his life. but he is so kind and strong, fighting to protect them both so that they can protect each other, it's only too late to realize just how much they care
Luke lost Percy. lost him in life when the boy didn't join his side, lost him more in each fight they had. he knew Percy had a right to be angry at him, but he was so consumed in his anger to see that his godly family didn't matter, the one he already had had was enough and he lost that too. now, back from the dead and head clear, he is ready to make amends and earn Percy's trust, attention. even if he has to fight through hell to get it, and an angry sun god
