Dream was almost 19 when he first realized he had never learned to live. Papers said he was a high-school graduate, and nothing was holding him back from leaving the city. He hated the city of Manberg with all of his might, but like a child during a temper tantrum, he still clung to it. He despised every street and building, bittersweet and burning. Yet he couldn't bring himself to leave because it was all there was left of everything he had ever known. So he stayed.
(Dream is living his early 20s in a flower shop, with no future until he meets a certain vigilante. A story about unexpected bonds, burning households, unloved children, heartbroken souls, heroes and villains.)

Aether looked as Scaramouche remembered him. Golden hair with more golden eyes. They seemed to hold the sun’s glow and locked it there. His scarf fluttered where the wind stroked it, and he appeared ethereal for a moment until he stepped into the shadows of the shrine to get near Scaramouche.
“There’s nothing here but dirt. It’s basically dying.”
“It’s your shrine,” Scaramouche pointed out, and he couldn't remember any other explanation.
Or: He had one too many names, bestowed by each different god he served, printed to his skin like brand. Only one god had ever earned his loyalty.

Summary
“You should try to do some poetry yourself” Aether said with that radiant smile once again, and Xiao felt like every part of him that wanted to refuse wavered.
“Maybe” he yielded, as Aether placed his hand on top of his own, his warmth so welcoming he wished they could stay like that forever.
They stayed in silence for a moment, with Xiao feeling the slight disappointment of knowing his excuse to be with his love was running out, knowing he had to come back that very same night to the inn, as he couldn’t leave it unattended, possible victim to monsters nearby.
“It looks like we only have one poem left” he said before taking out of his pocket another piece of paper, one Xiao hadn’t expected.
OR
After the poetry contest has come to an end, Aether meets Xiao at the top of a hill.

Aether disrupts the calm. Xiao’s eyes flicker towards the outlander who has now shuffled off of the bench and is resting on the ground, leaning back against the bench with his elbows propped on top of it.

“What is it that you truly want?”
There’s silence and Aether fears he may have somehow offended his friend. He turns around to check that Xiao is still there when he hears a light scoff.

Summary
Plants come in different shapes and forms. Each individual needs different care in order to grow, just like how people are different and need varying care in order to grow stronger in the relationship.
To Xiao, Aether is like a sunflower. A sunflower stands tall and is known for their bright, vivid yellow petals. Sunflowers look towards the sun, looking at the brighter side of life. Though this isn’t always the case, Xiao envied how Aether was able to do something he was never able to. Watering your favourite plant daily, but what's the point of watering a dying plant?

Aether appears on Xiao's doorstep, drenched in cold rain and cuts and bruises covering his face and body. Xiao pulls him inside and together with his dad, Zhongli, patch him up and try to find out what happened.

Aether thinks Scaramouche is the most beautiful when he’s relaxed, he’s thought that for quite some time now. He can almost never catch him without his features scrunched up in disgust or contempt with his eyebrows furrowed and his eyes narrowed––Aether knows him best as someone who’s tense and unyielding, arms crossed over his chest, chin pointed upwards. But those rare fractions of moments when Aether spots him before Scaramouche can even realize anyone is looking at him, Aether finds an entirely new expression on his face.

Summary
Many residents of Sumeru thought the Sun and Moon Nara were myths, nothing more than a child’s fairy tale to inspire hope. Over the course of many years, this changed, and the two became well known and beloved amongst Sumeru.
The Moon Nara was more well known, however the Sun Nara was beloved by all, wanting nothing more than to protect his radiant glow. Which is why it concerned the Aranara whenever the Wanderer came to visit.
