Summary
The rumors of Voldemort’s resurrection spread quickly after the sixth anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts.
Following the Auror Office’s discovery of a not-insubstantial amount of evidence corroborating the claims, Hermione, an Unspeakable, and Harry, an experienced Auror, are tasked with leading an investigation to stop the third coming of Voldemort.
Delving into the mystery, Hermione uncovers an inner secret society within the Death Eater regime, the second contingency plan crafted by Voldemort before the Second Wizarding War, and lost practices of ancient magic.
Unfortunately, Hermione also discovers that there is only one person who both (1) has firsthand knowledge regarding the ritual, and (2) is willing to assist in the investigation (albeit at a price): Draco Malfoy.
A slow burn Dramione featuring lots of academic research (inspired by mythology) and action and adventure in Egypt.
(Note: While this story is inspired by (the cinematic masterpiece that is) The Mummy (1999), and includes some nods to the film, it is not a direct retelling thereof.)

Hermione refuses at first, not wanting a relationship or a one night stand but when Pansy utters the words “Play Pretend,” followed afterwards by “he’s gay,” well, Hermione saw her chance to make Ron’s head pop off.

Her scar was burning again.
It never really stopped. It hurt all the time, every day, at least a bit. At this point, waking up with a dull ache or irritating sting meant Hermione was in for a great day. The background level of pain was akin to a dripping tap or beeping smoke detector she had learned to ignore. Days where she didn’t need to take anything to numb the pain and could smile and laugh almost like nothing was wrong. Almost like normal.
Some days were not as good. Some days it throbbed, itched, pulsated and spiked shooting fire in random bursts. Days where she was prone to be short-tempered; snapping at people, impatient and abrasive but still herself. Still held together and coping just fine. Less good days.
Today though, today the fucking thing burned. It was going to be a Bad Day.
