He's always been drawn in by the sky, the wind rustling his green curls and making the leaves dance along the ground, or the fierce howls that rode the sharp, biting cold of pelting rain with bright and beautiful arcs of lighting followed by booming thunder.
He's always felt the desire, the need, to be higher, higher than he could get. Laughing as he raced other kids to the top of the tallest tree in the small park, always the first and always feeling it wasn't enough. Wasn't tall enough. Reaching up to the sky as far as he could.
But it was never enough.
Not until his quirk came in.

Out of one eye, Midoriya Izuku sees the colour and beauty of the world, the wonderful smile of his mother, and the overwhelming presence of the heroes. Out of the other, he sees the exact weight of leaves and insects, the tiny indentation of his mother's arm where she grips it from stress, and all the ways a simple misstep can spell disaster.
He thinks both worlds can be beautiful.

Overall there might be some dark moments, maybe, but it should mostly be a happier fic unless I decide its not going to be anymore.

Izuku Midoriya had given up, abandoned by society, family, friend, educators, peers and when the last beacon of hope; the Number One hero of Japan told him to give up. It was all to much for him, the last bit of resolve broke. In a society where the measure of a person begins with their quirk how does one measure a quirkless boy with a dream of being a hero.
There upon the rooftop he made his decision to follow the advice of his most prominent tormentor. “Take a swan dive off the roof and hope for a quirk in the next life.” There on the ledge of the building he was left on he closed his eyes and let it all go.
The Phoenix Force had other plans, it had burned this world over 20 times before and was ready to do so again, then it saw him fall. It would give him another chance, a chance to be a hero and change the world. To guide it to a new era, to push it further instead of the stagnant cesspool it had become.
He would die, consumed by the fires of the Phoenix to be reborn, given the power to change the world. And change the world he must, either that or burn it all down to start again.

Curiously, during that year Izuku is transported into another world where he lived a second life as Zaus, a Chef in a world where cooking and Ingredients rule supreme, and there following a new dream he rose up to become the "King of Chefs", followed by being forcefully turned into a Villain through brainwashing and a successive fall of grace. At the end of that life Izuku wakes-up from his Coma with memories from both Lives now co-existing inside him, along the skills of a Chef that surpassed human imagination. From there Izuku had an epiphany: IF he can't be a Hero, he will just be a Chef once again!...
